I am currently working on a DIY tutorial for making a battery-powered, backlit frame for what I think is the best way to print your deep sky astrophotography: Duratrans transparent film! The only downside: printing on Duratrans is very expensive which is why I'm showing how to save money by making the backlit frame yourself from these parts: a cheap shadowbox frame from Michaels, some reflective tape, a piece of frosted plexiglass, and a strip of LEDs connected to a AA battery pack. It will still be more expensive than other print methods, but I think it's worth the cost for important pieces/gifts, as it's the only printing method where I don't feel like I'm losing detail going from the computer monitor to a print.
