Video Premiere - Friday 2/25/22, 12pm ET

I have a new 38 minute video premiering tomorrow, Friday, 2/25/2022 at 12pm ET (9am PT, 17:00 UTC). This video is called "I Took 1.024 Photos of Orion Nebula!" and it covers the topic of image STACKING in depth, explaining the concept both theoretically and practically by comparing the image at 1, 4, 16, 64, 256, and 1024 sub-exposures stacked.

For anyone that is unfamiliar with YouTube Premieres, it will play at noon tomorrow with a live chat box. I will be there, and hope you can make it too! After the premiere ends, it will turn in to a regular YouTube video at the same link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vd6Zk5M5OA

This was amazing. So clear. It also raised a lot more questions. Lol

Comparison videos like this finally provide the means to understand why astrophotography imaging and processing practices are what they are. Sometimes sky conditions, my equipment, and my inexperience mean I have to cut corners on my imaging/processing, so it's good to understand what cutting those corners means to the result and how to compensate.

Yes, I used my Canon EOS Ra mirrorless camera for this video.

Apparently you used a modified camera to show the red H-alpha light.
