How To Find ANY Deep Sky Object

It is an overview of star hopping and plate solving, which I think of as the 'old school' and 'new school' ways of using star patterns to find your deep sky object. With a go-to mount, you might be able to just use plate solving and never learn star hopping, but I think it is a very valuable skill to learn.

Hi Bob, do you capture with a windows computer? 'ansvr' is an offline version of astrometry.net that works very well through other software (NINA, SGP, etc.). ASTAP is a standalone program for platesolving offline. Message me to talk more about this (links don't work in comments).
