Poll Result and December Update

The poll for the patreon-exclusive video has wrapped up and the winner is...

"Sky and equipment requirements for different kinds of deep sky objects -- emission nebula, galaxies, milky way, star clusters, etc."

This video should not be too hard for me to make, so I expect I can have it to you all by the end of January!

I am also finishing up my Fisheye Lens shootout review. And have started work on a few other videos including a fun one where I will compare the results of tracked vs. untracked if you were to use the same total integration, and same gear (other than the star tracker).

I will try to make quick off-the-cuff video(s) about the Jupiter/Saturn conjunction if I have ANY luck at all in capturing it. Not sure I will, but I'm gonna try!

What is everyone else up to? It's been pretty cloudy here in Boston as you might expect this time of year, but I've had a couple clear nights in the past month at least.

I look forward to seeing it

I used a bunch of different equipment from 200mm camera lens to a 6" Newt. I'm not a great planetary photographer and am not in a good location for it, so nothing turned out that well, but it was fun.

Nico what equipment are you going to use for Saturn and Jupiter?

Darren M. Coleman

Same here, new moon was clouded out for the whole Northeast as far as I can tell.

Doing well, hope this finds you and yours well. Other than two straight weeks of overcast and storms , I want to try out this new tracker , but hey it can always be worse, I thank God for my health. Have a blessed day.

Oooh, nice setup Jason! Please keep us updated with how it progresses. I'm especially interested in the Skywatcher AZ-GTI with wedge and how that works for you. I've been following a thread about that on Cloudy Nights for a long time, and am tempted to get one. Happy new year, Nico

Hi Everyone! I have just completed my first EAA rig consisting of a Sharpstar 61EDPHii using the ZWO ecosystem (EAF, 294mm, guidescope and 290mm) and managed to snag a used SkyWatcher AZ-GTI modified to have EQ support on a WO wedge. My first project is to use what I have learned here to perform a widefield image of Orion, then use the Sharpstar to zoom in on each feature (Thor's helmet, Horsehead/Flame, M42) and create a composition. Should be a heckuva challenge :) Also just started the PixInsight tutorials via PixInsight website. Looking forward to the next video Nico, and thankful to have found your channel! It has provided a clear understanding of how to get started, and covers everything from start to finish. I've used the materials to create my own workflow and prep-guide before heading out!! Only fear is it might lead me to being a coffee addict lol Clear Skies!

Greetings Nico, well in the South Coast of England, its been cloudy for months. The last sequential days of clear nights was at the beginning of September!! I've never known it so dull and cloudy :( I have so much to try out, different lenses, tracked, untracked etc
