Yep AP, this video really got me ticked off. Reason - 2 to be exact. Yep, I knew someone negatively impacted by the 2008 housing debacle. A single mom with two kids who was working her butt off. Her mortgage was via Wells Fako. She was paying her monthly bills but somehow the bank made a snafoo and she comes home one evening to find she was being evicted. We attended the same church and the pastor asked me if I could take her and the kids in. Fortunately my home was large enough for them to have their own living area and bath. They stayed for several months while she tried to regroup. She did find another place, a rental and by then had been able to save up quite a bit. I got transferred before Wells Fako and their ilk were held accountable so don't know what eventually happened but she and her kids are likely scarred for life from such a fiasco. Reason #2 - Fast forward about 12 years later to Hurricane Flo. My family and I were directly impacted. Worthless FEMA was there along with the local government to give a one time food voucher (via local government) for those impacted by the storm. We incurred evacuation expenses, loss of food, etc. etc. Well, the government that took my hard earned money without permission (I believe that is called "theft" but when the government does it, it's called "taxation") told me that we made too much to even get a few pennies to buy a can of pork and beans. I do not begrudge those who received assistance, but it was irritating to be told we automatically qualified for something and then to be turned down. The government doesn't give Nathaniel Jenkins about you, me, or anyone else except itself. Let me go get a drink of hot tea to calm myself down from just thinking about these incidents. Perhaps I should file for disability due to GIPTSD (Government Induced Post Traumatic Stress Disorder).
