TO DISCUSS=> a non-exclusive patreon?
Added 2020-01-07 11:06:56 +0000 UTCThere's been a few kind patrons mentioning their support for this patreon being 100% for my comic work, and although bonus content here are always nice, they're here to help with what I already do, not for more of it. (and I thank you for it!!)
In all honesty, having a non-exclusive platform here on patreon has always been a tantalizing idea for me BUT I wouldn't do this big change without thinking about it some more, and with you all to discuss it with.
For me, a non-exclusive Patreon would mean:
-> being able to share all bonus sketches and art on social media (more public shares= more visibility)
-> time in updating and managing patreon free to use elsewhere (comics, art research, projects, etc)
-> less stress in updating content and hoping patrons will find worthy of their pledge (it happens!)
-> however, I'd be taking a big risk in losing patrons that might be here only for the exclusive content (I mean, I didn't create the +$5 tier for nothing, am i right?) and thus losing a financial stability I can't afford.
How would you react if this change was made? Would you stop donating altogether? Would you lower your current amount? Or keep it as is? Please let me know as sincerely as you can, I will totally understand and it would help a lot!
Again, if this change EVER happens, it won't be for another couple of months. And you'd be warned exactly WHEN the change happens, so please stay put until then, as exclusive content will keep being updated every two weeks for a while still<3
(and I can keep little things exclusive, like the cat pics with personal thoughts and the like)

I just started today being a patron of yours, and I joined to find a way to thank you: not only ggar is funny and all.. It made my heart melt multiple times. Your art is truthfully an amazing and dreamy discovery every time, even some simple panels from regular strips are often able to hypnotize me.. Not to mentions those cute-silly faces that sometimes pops up on the characters to underline the emotions of the moment. So, i don't care for extra stuff here, i just madly love ggar and i will always buy every volume that will come out for sell >:3

I keep having trouble with my bank because it keeps thinking Patreon=fraud so I know I've unintentionally skipped months, but I think I fixed it for this month. What matters to me is being able to promote creators in some way that isn't "exposure".

2020-01-13 20:34:49 +0000 UTCI'm mainly here to support you for GGaR. But if the different tiers hadn't existed when I signed up, I might well have selected a lower amount than $5. Also, the number of artists I'm supporting this way keeps growing (if slowly), so I can't really make any long-term promises about the level, maybe especially if the exclusive stuff stops being exclusive. But I would still support you at some level, and I wouldn't be in a hurry to change the amount.

2020-01-10 21:33:20 +0000 UTCI’m one of the $5 patrons and that would not change if you shared all the content more widely. I’m here to support your work, not to get any kind of VIP treatment. Having said that, the most important thing is for you to get that support. So if you would lose money by opening things up, don’t. Perhaps a compromise would be possible? Something like immediate access to X for the patrons paying most, with a week delay in access for those who pay less and a month delay for the general public - if that would not be too much work for you.

2020-01-08 20:11:17 +0000 UTCWas originally a $5 patreon, went down to $1 for a hot sec bc I was short on cash, this post reminded me to bump it back up to $5. I deffs don't do it for the exclusive content, I really just do it because I love your work and I want you to be able to continue doing what you do. I love the idea of other people getting your sketches too! Let us know if you do end up making it exclusive and you take a hit, maybe some of us can pledge a bit more in order to balance anyone who leaves out.

Most of the other creators I support just release the extra content early for subscribers, rather than make it exclusive access. Or release exclusive work-in-progress sketches before the final content is released. As long as I get kitty pics, I'm happy :)

I enjoy the extra tidbits into your thoughts and characters but that's not the reason I support you. I will continue to support you at $5 until ggar reaches its glorious conclusion and then I will reassess. My budget, unfortunately, is tight this year.
