2021-10-16 02:54:41 +0000 UTCYou have addressed both the increase for Medicare premiums and Tri Care prescriptions. I get both social security and military retirement. The problem I have with the Tri Care prescription drug program is the percentage of increase it has gone up. The year I retired it was $3 for each mail order script. The following year it jumped to $9 for each perscription . The percentage of increase was nose bleed and they are gradually taking meds away from the federal formulary which means for those who get scripts from a military medical treatment facility, you have to buy that drug now out in town or maybe - I'm not sure about mail order. I am blessed and grateful but I feel for those vets who get very little in retirement and social security and say maybe on 5 meds or more, those prices do add up. Their only other option would be the VA - IF they qualify. While I am not destitute, I count my pennies and see that if I were dependent on that 5.9% it would not cut it. I also have an issue with the politicians saying the social security I was forced to pay into is considered a "non funded liability". Politicians, you are wrong, we funded it and you spent it inappropriately. The government giveth and the government taketh away, NOT blessed is the name of the government.
