for those living in apts, not usually allowed yes. really hope things don't get that much worse bc just knowing I'm not comfortable with storing despite being safety conscious, many of your neighbors won't be and that's pretty dangerous when people get desperate. The fact that here in TX during the big freeze, there were some reports of some using camp stoves in homes was disturbing, especially since these people should have "camping safety smarts" already if they go camping. Also, the fact that people don't know how to stay warm other than going *outside* their home into a small car and turning it on to get just a little bit of heat. I am guilty of not recalling much "camping" knowledge I once had while a girlscout...but for those who are accustomed to camping, you're mostly way ahead in this game! I don't like calling things "prepping" seems like a more recent term. Go back in time to your youth or maybe your parents' years growing up- much of this was just absolutely normal, nothing "doomsday" about it- you needed to be set for food for the season- for example, grew up in 70s- yes still grocery stores quite common, but most families still cooked own meals, and very common the grandparents or older aunts/uncles especially, canned veggies they grew in small gardens- go back in time more of course even more common on the canning. I remember the older couple that lived across the street from us growing up often made fresh bread for us. Very common to share fresh baked goods. Anyway, back to the gas (sorry veered off topic) I'm actually hesitant to buy a new car right now. Got to get more in shape to walk or bicycle more to keep the car trips very purposeful. Unfortunately, having to go back into the office in next couple months instead of work from home, so will be using tons more gas.
