I think the whole "boutique freeze dried" is not as (cost) effective as a $229 Excalibur dehydrator and a FoodSaver (jar) sealer. 5-10 years is plenty of time to store ... because you'd be up an running after that ... Buy an old E150 van or (better yet) BOX TRUCK. Doesn't even need to work. Have it towed. Sell the parts. Hide it. Will you get taxed? Who knows. CASH! GUT IT! Put in bucket after bucket of 25-30 lb of rice/beans/corn/wheat? I've done 50 and am on my SECOND 50 at ~$1 pound of RICE/BEANS/CORN/WHEAT (look up "nixtamalization" ... Arkansas Prepper Network). I think your payday preps work. I go to Walmart and NEVER leave without $30-$50 of canned meat. I agree that the biggest risk is (hyper-)inflation. I see EVERYTHING going up in costs. Even mylar bags, mason jars ... BUY THEM. Buy things that are durable ... here's a thought: 1) motor oil 2) chain saw (50:1) and bar lube 3) soap, shampoo 4) bulk spices (and SALT, SALT, SALT!) 5) yade-yade-yade

Oh by the way your meat loaf you shared with us the other day is delicious!!!!
