Added 2017-08-18 23:40:52 +0000 UTCSo today I started working on the next video, I spent a good few hours typing up the notes, ideas, a guide for the structure etc, and now have a much better picture of it in my head a feel comfortable talking about it.
Originally the idea was just about lore in games, and how it works so much better in them compared to other mediums. An example being with movies and books lore/extra information can indeed still be in the background but your very much heavily guided to this information.
But something like dark souls while you could argue theres still some guiding force its up to you the player, and the feeling of discovering these things whether they be environmental or an item description, is a much more satisfying feeling then it being delivered to you. Gashtalt reports in Automata are another example though not as good as souls.
This idea proved to be to small, however and since then I've expanded and the video will ultimately still be about this concept but more so what makes games special, what this medium can provide over others.
