Loving your reactions Megan! Del is played by David Jason who is 42 here but looks every bit of that. Del was born in 1945 and this is 1982, so he's 37. As brilliant as he is, David is too old for the part in truth. Nick Lyndhurst who plays Rodney is only 21 here playing 23 and a half, so this makes the gap seem even larger. People do look younger for their age these days I think and the fashion back then, hairstyles etc. make people seem older than they are. The lady playing Irene looks more mid-late 40s than only just 40 for this reason I think.
