2023-09-01 17:16:53 +0000 UTCFrank Kelly (the actor who plays Father Jack, the crazy old one) was the only one of the main characters who came from more of a theatre/drama background than a comedy one, so yeah he must have had a great time on this show! Bonus fact, he also appeared as an extra in The Italian Job (the original 1969 version).

In fact, when we found out what it was, it didn’t even qualify as amusing, just something totally mundane. Mrs Doyle desperately wanted him to have the Sherry because that’s what she does. Usually it’s tea or cake
