Early access for 1.21.0
Added 2022-06-08 09:34:37 +0000 UTCIt's been a week since the Legendary patrons have gained access to the current version of Qosmetics, and I haven't really had any problems reported, so I am posting that version here for the lower tier patrons so they may try it out themselves as well!
For the higher tier patrons, this post is accessible, but the files are the same so there is no reason for you to reinstall the mod with the files provided here.
What follows is more or less the same post I posted for the legendary patrons, possibly changed a bit for the lower tier:
This version of Qosmetics is completely rewritten, making sure to test for crashes more often and to work out any kinks. Currently it's at a stage where there shouldn't be crashes anymore, tho they may appear (if they do, they're at least REALLY infrequent)
A change you'll notice that's quite apparent is that the file format for objects has changed, this new format makes it much easier to load information about the model, or even load this information on something that's not a Unity program.
The best part about this is that Qosmetics will automatically convert any old qosmetics files you may still have! (to be sure that you do not lose them in the conversion process, maybe backup '/sdcard/ModData/com.beatgames.beatsaber/Mods/Qosmetics', this way it can't just delete any special models you might have, since it does delete the old files)
This means that you can just use your old models as well as new ones that would be made.
The modularization of the mod is also complete, this means that there is now seperate mods for each type of model, much like the PC version of these mods. The difference is that they still appear in the one menu Qosmetics has always had since it's had UI. Essentially, you can just use sabers if that is all that you want to use, same goes for walls and notes.
Currently menu pointers are not supported, as that might become a seperate mod at some point.
For notes, the new note types are all supported, and the mod can even generate the new note types from the old models, albeit a bit jank.
Keep in mind that even with this post, things can still change if needed, and worst case we'll need some sort of reversal of the new format, but that'll be possible to do anyways.
I hope that with this, you can try out the new Qosmetics and see for yourself what has changed, and if you think it's better or not.
The new unity project is included, though I believe there were some issues with that so keep that in mind.
