WOW - So much to unpack here and you spoke to so many important points. This reminds me a little of your Janet Jackson video where you were talking about how the dominant culture doesn't like females who 'objectify' themselves (ie. just own their sexuality as THEIRS vs. being something that is FOR someone else) because that means that that sexuality isn't FOR the dominant culture. The whole 'if you objectify yourself that takes me out of the centre and that's not ok.' Which points us to a huge problem in culture being that everything is designed to be FOR the dominant patriarchic structure that those who run/benefit from it. So Lizzo coming out not TRYING to be what's desired, and OWNING what she is for herself is the massive slap in the face to the current status quo - and thus people don't like it! Second, it's showing us again how our dominant culture only appreciates and accepts what it finds 'attractive' and can then USE to sell things. That's really what it comes down to. The fact that Little Naz and Lizzo are having success is due to the fact that there are enough people who hold different values and identities to the patriarchy that they will pay to see them and buy the things they promote - so the dominant culture holds them up - but it's a calculated risk because again, these people force us to QUESTION the dominant narratives of what is and isn't ok to be - and those narratives are what keep us oppressing and policing one another, upholding the systems of inequity we have. This all points to that deeper issue of bodies being political. Judging someone as 'unhealthy' and therefore being unworthy of respect, health care, provision - this is the root problem of our society. There's enough to take care of everyone, yet we still desperately cling to categorizing people so that we can have in and out groups, making it 'ok' to exploit and gate keep some while over indulging and profiting another. The fact that people try to 'type' Lizzo or other radicalized black people is another sign of this. What box do I put you into so I know how I should treat you/what kind of treatment I should be ok with society having for you?' THAT is the problem. People owning themselves against the narratives and power structures is a huge key in moving away from the inequity we have - hopefully it doesn't just get swallowed up and exploited by capitalism like everything else has, being turned into a product to buy vs being an actual point of change and liberation...
