This was SO well done. Thank you for taking the time to really break this down, go into the history, and present it in a way where I think ANYONE can find some deeper understanding of this - and the issues that are being pointed to here. I also LOVED how you explained that school IS indoctrination, like hello. Yes. Culture is indoctrination. Thank you for this.

2021-08-30 11:53:55 +0000 UTCThere is a way in teaching shocking and horrifying history to children in a way that raises awareness rather then traumatizes them. Children are smarter and more empathetic then we all think. What I mean by that is, the topic of racism is probably more painful and problematic for us as adults now, BECAUSE we were not taught the history earlier and now have to revise a lot of our ideas about it. You really got me thinking with this one. Already excited for chapter 2 and 3!
