So, how to train this skill? I have my method and it works just fine. I will show you, step by step.

First, find a model. Everybody, who's ready to work with you for a while. Second, prepare some photos you like, something simple. Check some in this post, for example. Download them to your phone or tablet.

Let's work! Try the first one. Ask your model to copy this pose, make five ot ten shots until you make it good, for sure. Then, tell you model to smile, that's the only change you want. Then, tell her to close her eyes. Then, to turn her face to the left. Then, not smile, but to open mouth a little bit. DON'T change the pose, only a few small changes with her eyes, face, mouth etc.

And every time make a few shots, to be sure that at least one is really good.

Then, try another pose. And do this routine again! DON'T change the pose, only a few small changes with her eyes, face, mouth etc.

Another pose, and the same routine again! It's so simple. Always tell your model what to do, and you will see that she will be totally relaxed. Models always feel awkward when photographer is silent. But with this method you always know what to do,

Pose, small changes, another pose, small changes, another pose, again and again. Then, new outfit, and again.

You will always get the result you want with this method.

Of course, later, you will not use your phone or tablet, you will remember all good poses by yourself. And, again, always talk a lot. Tell models everything. Guide them. Explain them everything. Say nice things and compliments about their posing and looks every minute. Show them good shots on your camera screen.
