Modeling is far more grueling than people tend to think.

Between tight schedules, numerous costume changes, diet regulations and late hours, the hours of work off camera is what makes the days on stage that much more successful. Many just can't handle the pressure and attention.

Not Selena, though. She lived for the shoots.

She stood in front of the mirror in her first outfit of the day - a gorgeous wine-red dress that clung to her curves with what little material it possessed. Shifting her chest a little, lining up the straps and smoothing any small wrinkles, she looked at herself in the mirror and smiled.

She hadn't always been this proud of how she looked. Getting to this point had taken well over a decade, her transition having begun as a young teen. Those early years of dejected apathy, a lack of care for her then-mismatched body, had been rough for many reasons - not the least of which feeling so disconnected and unhappy with the body she had been handed.

Things changed when she discovered her true identity. The body she had so carelessly neglected for her early life no longer seemed like an inevitability - rather, it was the first step of a grand project, the project of defining who she truly was. The early days of doctor's visits, her first estrogen shots, the exercise regimes - being fully committed to bringing about the person she wished to become, Selena threw herself into becoming the best she possibly could be.

Shaping her outside only further shaped her inside, especially for the better.

Selena didn't hold much love in her heart for her self as a teen. Feeling as profoundly numb as she did, the thought of loving herself always seemed to ring so hollow. During the years of growth and understanding, however, her pride in the progress she was making only grew, and the dormant seed of love that rested within her grew slowly as she did.

It's easy to be told that you're beautiful - it was another thing entirely to truly feel that way.

That thought in particular brought tears to the smiling skunk's eyes, tears she quickly dabbed away with a smile before she began work on her makeup. The road to feeling at home in her own body was long, and her journey continued onward, but for the first time in a while, she felt content.

"Ms. Singh!"

Without flinching, she continued her work on her face, her eyes glancing at the mouse assistant peeking through her studio door.

"Yes, Darius, how can I help you?" she asked, her speech distracted but nonetheless friendly. She made it a point to recognize and remember those that worked with her, and Darius had been quite helpful since she started modeling, "Is everything alright?"

"Yes, yes, of course!" the young rodent affirmed, adjusting his glasses before glancing at his clipboard, "I just wanted to remind you to use the extra-hold makeup? We're shooting covers for the, ah, pred-centric covers today as well, so management suggests something that won't smear after a 'large meal'" he said, the hesitation in his voice making the sultry skunk smile.

"That's right...now I recall~!" She replied, finishing her deep red lipstick and pursing her lips at the mirror, "I'm certain I got the right...what do you think, Darius? Am I ready for the camera?" she asked, turning her head and sending her most alluring look to the obviously starstruck mouse. If he wasn't blushing before, he was now. Darius' eyes widened behind his thick glasses before he hid his face behind his clipboard, before his blushing face peeked out over the top once more.

"I, er...Ms. Singh..." he said, fumbling with his words before taking a breath, sincerity winning out over flustered arousal in his tone,

"I think you look beautiful" <3
