There it was.
Bailey had awoken that morning, a darker Saturday morning, to a special feeling. Being a polar bear, she often found that she had a sense for when winter truly began - not just when the weather was cold, of course, but when the true spirit of the season returned to the world.
She sat up for a moment, bountiful body clad in her most comfortable pajamas, and she just...breathed. Slow, deep breaths - in through the nose, out through the mouth - made her chest rise and fall, her painted lips finally slipping into a smile.
There were few things Bailey loved more than winter. The summer had been particularly hot, and for a big gal in professional attire, heat really isn't on her side. All the while, she longed for the bite of winter, the first snowfall, the day when the world fell silent as everyday noise was swallowed up by the thick blankets of white.
She considered getting up, as was her habit, and getting ready for her day...but this time, she simply closed her eyes, and lay flat on her back, one arm cradling her head, while the other rested on her pillowy belly.
She didn't have anywhere to be today, and she deserved a moment to enjoy the cold. Before too long, the sun would regain its strength, the thaw would come, and the world would fill with life once more.
But for now? It was quiet. This moment, this cold, still second of peace, was meant to be savored~

Finally, the weather is turning in favor of us polar bears! I wanted to do something a little softer, a little more relaxed, in honor of the proper winter season. Hope you all are staying warm!

Thank you all so much for your support!
