Problem with Lea’s ending

SPOILERS AHEAD FOR CHAPTER 4 ENDING

Were you disappointed that you couldn’t pick Lea as the girl you’re falling in love at the end of the chapter? Then, this post is for you.

After hearing some of your feedback, I realized I overlooked something at the end sequence with Lea.

If you’re on her path, in the last talk of the chapter with her, she confesses that she’s confused about how she feels about the MC and even jealous of some of his interactions with other girls. A few options were provided to handle the situation:

• 1- Saying that you’re not interested in being exclusive with her
• 2- Saying that you like her and there is no one else

In the second case, what the MC says can be true if you’re only on her path, or a lie if you’re also on other girls’ paths.

Then, when deciding which girl you’re falling in love with at the end of the chapter, Lea as an option was blocked in case you tell her you didn’t want to be exclusive. This made sense.

It was also a mistake because I overlooked something.

I failed to give an option to the players that have not been only on her path, but also don’t want to lie to Lea because they like her. I imagine, the next time they talk, the MC could say something like: “We haven’t been exclusive, but I’m also starting to like you. If you want us to become exclusive I’m all for it.”

And I think that should be possible.

So, my solution is to change the end a little bit. I don’t want to add new options because that will screw up save compatibility for those that don’t have an old save to load.

But I did change the lines of dialogue a little bit so that the “not exclusive option” isn’t meant has a definitive answer.

It now looks like this:

mc "But... I don't yet know if I want to be exclusive with you..."

Lea "Oh."

mc "..."

mc "I don't know, I just... I'm sorry, but this just caught me by surprise."

Lea "..."

Lea "Are you... are you dating other girls?"

mc "*sigh*"

mc "It's... complicated..."

Lea "..."

mc "Listen Lea, I'm sorry if I, in any way, led you on. But we have never talked about being exclusive before."

Lea "..."

mc "..."

mc "The last thing I want is to hurt you."

Lea "..."

Lea "*sigh* I, uhh... I need some time to think."

mc "Yeah, I, uhh…. me too."

Lea "..."

Also, the option to fall in love with Lea will be available, as long as you are on her path.

So, with this sequence of events, there will be an option in the next chapter for the MC to tell her that he likes her and is happy to become exclusive from now on. Or to say that he isn’t interested in being exclusive. That’s up to the player to choose.

Mind you, Lea’s path won’t be completely shut down in in case you don’t want to be exclusive. It might not lead to the “happy ever after ending”, but she might still be interested in keep playing with MC until she finds someone to be in a relationship with.

So, if you were disappointed that you couldn’t pick Lea at the end, once the patch is out, please load your save, roll back a couple times, and redo that last love choice to pick her.
