July 2025 Update: Getting Close

Happy July, everyone! The weather’s taken a turn for the sweltering in the past few days, making me very glad for my air conditioner. Let’s get into the update!

Monstrous Liberation Work

The short version of this month’s update is that the first major update is EXTREMELY close to being content-complete. On my end, the update’s script has ballooned from 31k to 46k, with only about 4k to go. I’m hoping to wrap it up in the next couple of days and hand everything over to Arden for its edit & proofreading pass while I get jamming on the implementation. I’ve been working really hard this past month, and I’m going to keep working really hard until the update is done!

Art-wise, we’re full steam ahead. Pacha and Diesel are both working hard to get the last of the sex scene art completed on time. They’re both turning in great work, and I’m excited for you to see what they’ve been cooking up! Julian’s also blasting out some extra UI art for this update, so look forward to that.

It’s going to be tight, but I’m reasonably confident in announcing that Monstrous Liberation’s first update will be launching on AUGUST 11TH, 2025, so look forward to it!

From The Blog

It’s been a pretty huge month on the blog! Lots to read, such as:

The Consumption Stumption

Playing: Earlier this month I received some extremely disheartening news in my personal life and was in need of one of my comfort games, so I decided to fire up Square Enix’s Kingdom Hearts 2: Final Mix. This is actually my first time playing Final Mix; all my other times through KH2 have been on the Playstation 2. I also opted to start my new file in “Critical Mode”, which I can only assume is name that because it’s for fans of the series like me who are “critical” of its narrative priorities, fractious release strategy, and near-total surrender to bloat and spectacle.

Watching: I took a day trip out to the incomparable Willow Video in Surrey, where I gleefully assembled a large stack of cut-price pre-owned DVDs & Blurays, among which was a complete box set of Mainframe Entertainment’s ReBoot. ReBoot was HUGE for me growing up, and having a physical copy of the series is a wonderful treat. I’m just starting out on a full rewatch, but I’m already thrilled by the dawn-of-3D-animation graphics and goofball computer-zone hijinx.

Shout-Out: A number of friends recently completed a project for the Toxic Yuri Game Jam, titled The Black Lily Theatre Company. It’s wonderfully unhinged, sumptuously illustrated, and extremely free, so please go check it out!

Wrapping Up

That does it for July’s update! With any luck, the next one will be telling you all about how great the MonLib update launch went! As always, thank you so much for following BP Games and enjoying the things we create!
