aasimar traits

For aasimar, I always liked giving them mathematical faces like they have perfect symmetry or you know how like some people use lofty poetry to describe a loved one. "hair like a veil of night" "eyes as green as a forest" but like literally. Like you can look into their eyes and see a far away forest.so much so that you could actually "get lost" in thier eyes. Also drawing from other cultures is cool for angels. Other heavenly messengers like from the Mahabharata. Multi limbed and the like. For a reference to angels in the bible seraphim translates as 'fiery ones" or something like that. Though a aasimar that gets confused for a fire genasi would be interesting. Also albino would be fun. Pure white was often used as a symbol of purity so being super "albino" would make sense I think. For tieflings making them animalistic would be interesting. Lions wolves and other preditory animals cause of demons being preditory. But often folk tale demons had stuff to do with the dead so like making them almost like a corpse grey bloated black blooded creatures would be an idea. Or if you wanna just make tieflings the opposite of aasimars where they have multiple eyes wings and the like. But make it edgy/evil themed as opposed to the aasimars beauty. So instead of gold hands they have hands of rusted iron. Playing off of demons being fallen angels.

Ooh, I've thought about this before. Some ideas I've had: Feather hair Fine feathers coating body (maybe except for face/hands) Mandala patterns on skin Tears of blood(-like substance) - maybe only when they would normally shed tears, or maybe perpetual Stigmata, or birthmarks resembling stigmata Always smells like incense/flowers/etc Head/face like a lion's Eyes like an eagle's Can make sounds they shouldn't be able to, like simulating musical instruments with just their mouth Blood resembles wine Patches of gem-like encrustation on skin (monetarily worthless) Extra eyes (nonfunctional) in places eyes don't normally go I agree with a lot of the other people who are saying that some traits might look unsettling, or that there might be overlap with tieflings. Ultimately it all depends on what aesthetic you're going for, of course.

Strange head shapes maybe? Like not just the face, but the whole head. It could be shaped like a cube, or a pyramid, or some more complex geometric shape. And maybe kinda like how some have feathers, some could have scales or gills?

cause im going for a more biblical angel approach, i wanna bring other stuff to the table than whats in the rule books haha

Void eyes and mouths as opposed to glow eyes and mouths. No eyes. Flowers just blooming in hair (?) Or that's more of a druidy thing probably.

I give my aasimar tails just as often as I give tieflings tails - animal feet as well, maybe lion or sheep for aasimar rather than the goat/cow association w tiefs?? I tend to mirror my Strange Aasimar Traits off my Strange Tief Traits since they're kinda two sides of the same coin,,,sharp teeth, pupilless eyes, black sclera, unnatural colored skin (usually more desaturated than tiefs Heavily Saturated skin colors), stuff like that,,,,

For tieflings possibly some odd horn shapes or colors, different tail tips, possibly multicolored tieflings since their original color schemes are thrown out the window by most players.

Tiefs w diff hellish ancestry. Bone devil tiefs w bony protrusions or rakshasa tiefs w tiger stripes! For aasi, kinda scaly skin from coatles or skin that glistlens like precious metals

For tieflings, maybe having runes formed into their skin like birth marks? I like to make my tieflings cast no shadows, and when their voice echoes in a cave it comes back in Infernal

A constant scent of flowers or fresh air after rain. Tieflings have something similar but it's Brimstone
