Here in CA you have to pay for a school bus. a lot of parents don't want to pay. Plus the when my kids took the bus to get home it took the bus over an hour to drop them off at home. However I do agree, the US needs to learn from the other countries.

Totally agree with you on bikes. I go to work and bring my kids to school on bikes, they have learnt to keep them working, use the gears, remember to lock, be careful on the street and so on so forth...so important, economical and ecological
