FISH SMELL: Over the holidays we were catching wiffs of old fish smell in the kitchen. We'd cooked fish recently so didn't pay too much attention to it...just made sure the trash was taken out. Then one day we were standing in the kitchen and I said "there it is again...do you smell it?" I have a super-sensitive nose, but even my wife smelled it too. She grabbed a flashlight and looked under the sink and saw white smoke pouring out of the metal 110v box where the dishwasher plugs in. Turns out the sink drain was directly above it and had sprung a leak, dripping right on the receptacle! We had the plumber out to fix the pipe and an electrician to move and repair the box, a happy (and somewhat expensive) ending to a story that could have ended very badly. So yes, burning electrical does smell like fish. :-0
