You can get a spring loaded punch to break the glass rather than trying kicking out a window. However, no matter what kind of tool you use, it has to be easily reachable by the driver and front seat passenger (one or two tools).

The mechanical release on the front doors of the Tesla's is very obvious and easy to use. I brief every passenger on the mechanical vs electrical release, but why Tesla doesn't make it more obvious in the documentation is really a negative. For the back seat, most kids could just climb into the front seat to escape. I can see that the requirement for child locks on rear doors could negate the ability to have a mechanical release. Those child locks seem like an issue for all cars as far as escape goes.
