The maintenance of catenary is a much larger amount of hardware that has to be maintained. A much larger amount of vegetation clearing must be maintained. This requires a wider right of way than we have at least in the US. Also we run double stack container trains that need 22 foot vertical clearance this makes over head wires really not feasible. Not sure how 10s of thousands of miles of wire to add said electrification doesn't use resources?

Battery electric trains? That sound so strange, when electric trains without battery have been around about since railroad exist. It can't be that expensive to build an electric line over a railroad, can it? Putting a battery on a train sounds like a massive waste of resources.

About Cybertruck delay, maybe because Texas is ahead of Berlin, the Model Y might be built in Texas with 4680 structural pack and all the engineering that involves.
