Michael, you are absolutelly correct, maybe the GOP is meant to disapear or change to compete.

Good point, I am sepecially concious of this fact since I grew up using the metric system but sometimes I can understand the English system as organic and it can be useful to be different. For this switch it will not be easy, it will be hell if you do not start to soon enough and could be pass unnoticed if you adopt it and live with it.

One correction. The GOP loves the Electoral College. The GOP has only obtained a popular vote majority one time in the the last eight. But the GOP has won the Presidency three times in the last eight via the Electoral College. There is no prospects in the near future for the GOP to be competitive in the popular vote.

It may not be that easy to switch over. Look at the metric system, we still don’t have it here. We use the imperial system, adapted from UK. But even the UK is on the metric system. Go figure.
