Just a comment on police cars. My son did some ride alongs with the police, and he told me that the reason they have to idle all the time is due to the power consumption of the electronics. If they turned off the ignition without turning off the electronics, the battery would be dead in less than an hour. Perfect reason for Police cars to go EV.
