im not saying moving on (although thats often a big topic in NTR stuff where the original relationship is just incredibly bad and unsattisfying) but i think the reason ppl hate it so much and are so pressed about "cheating" is that they want to own a partner. Monogamy is in general just something im not a fan of for a multitude of reasons but if someone wants to make that choice thats fine just dont make it for your partner and if they are not into it maybe its just not meant to be.

Maybe that's why there's a bit of a disconnect between the pro and anti-NTR comments. Though maybe we're getting a bit deeper in the weeds than intended. Still, I can at least agree that disliking a piece of art because you don't like the pairing does indicate a level of toxicity.

I'm seeing people say that they hate NTR because they don't like seeing characters sad, but there are also NTR stories about characters realizing that they're caught in a terrible relationship to being with and the NTR is meant to be a freeing moment for them. Like any art, it's a representation of complex emotions not meant to mirror real life. That said, I can see someone who was cheated on feeling resentment toward NTR. Maybe even someone who was never cheated on dislikes it because they can't comprehend that amount of pain. I still think art is more complex than that, but I can understand the sentiment.
