If you want this to work in X-Plane 12 (this will be true of any sound pack for any aircraft), you just need to ensure that the .snd file in the fmod directory matches the name of the .acf file. For example. my .act file is: ~/X-Plane 12/Aircraft/Rotate-MD-90/Rotate-MD-90.acf ...(I changed the 80s to 90s for my MD-90 mod) but the .snd file that ships with this sound pack will end up here if you follow the instructions: ~/X-Plane 12/Aircraft/Rotate-MD-90/fmod/Rotate-MD-80-XP11.snd Note the extraneous "-XP11". even if I hadn't renamed the plane MD-90. The fmod .snd file must match the name of the .acf file, so rename the .snd file to match whatever yours is.

K AKAIO

The installation notes state "#To enable JT8D Engine sounds 1. Download the JT8D Sound Pack" where from? Do I need to do this for the Laminar MD80?

David Heron

download the v1.5 IAE and if you want the JT8D go here : https://www.patreon.com/posts/32088442

Hey everyone, I have the rotate Md, but I saw that there are 2 types of sounds here, for the PW and the IAE, which ones would you recommend I download??

John Masen

Brian Miller

Cooling sounds can be enabled using the "SUPPLY " "HP BLD" switches (info.png)

K AKAIO

Great sound pack , In the Rotate IAE sound pack everything works but i do not hear the Cooling packs sounds or ATC chatter, any help?

Brian Miller

Rotate warnings are not disabled ! , only some are added in fmod > The Default Rotate Warning sounds found inside : \\plugins\MD-80-core\res\sounds\

K AKAIO

Hi, all sounds are working exept the warning/callout sounds. I don't get any of them. Is there a way to fix this? :) Sounds are for the Rotate.

Lukas Duerbaum

- Use this set on the Default Laminar MD80 ! - Remove the fmod folder and re-install again , the "fmod" should be inside : >> ...\ \Aircraft\Laminar Research\McDonnell Douglas MD-80\ .

K AKAIO

i am trying these steps n nothing maybe i am still doing something wrong

Jose

- open the fmod folder and rename the "MD90.snd" or "MD80.snd" the same as the aircraft (.acf) name > EXP of aircraft named "MD82.acf" . rename the "MD80.snd" to "MD82.snd"

K AKAIO

i am having the same issue i put both folders in the MD-80 folder n nothing plss help now i can not hardly hear any sounds what did i do wrong plss help

Jose

here is the link to the MD90 I downloaded, it is a great product and I suggest updating it so maybe the sounds can work for it. It is freeware too. It mimics the default MD80 but it is an MD90, of course. I'm guessing the sounds you have right now do not work for this yet. I tried it with the native sounds. https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/57924-md90-30/

logan mccarthy

is it the Rotate or the XPL 11 Package ? - if it's for Rotate or the Default XPL11 ( also super80 ) do not rename any thing . >> just delete the fmod folder and install again PS!! : this is an old release , will upload the newer one

K AKAIO

Hi, I just recently downloaded the MD-90 and I attempted to put these sounds in the aircraft. I followed the directions and the sounds are not working at all. I did exactly what it said to do the only thing I may have messed up was renaming the items in the FMOD folder. I am not really sure what it is asking me to do there. Could you help me out maybe? Thank you!

logan mccarthy

yes , now is fixed

K AKAIO

Is the link for this broken?
