Morganin the Mage:
Not much is officially known about Morganin the Mage. Some old scriptures say she was the first pony to explore the land of the Empire 2,000 years before the Empress Luna and her sister first settled the once Equestria.
Even though her magical items predate official Empire records, the ones that have been found still possess immeasurable magical power. Due to the passage of time, some have become unstable and have been locked away.
Morganin’s staff found over 600 thought to be depleted of its power, was once activated be an Earth Pony named Lollypop.
While the staff was on display, Lollypop was allowed to touch the staff since she was blind due to an accident, and could not see the staff. While Lollypop held the staff and ran her hooves over it, she said: “It feels wonderful. I wish I could see it for real.”
At such time the staff’s magic activated and healed her eyes.
The staff was examined once again, but no traces of magic could be found.
Empress Luna gave the staff to Lollypop, saying that it was due to her pure wish that allowed the staff to waken and use its power once more.
After Lollypop passing, the staff was given to the Royal Library for display.
Lollypop’s photo can be seen next to the staff to this day.
