#8: I Show Up for What I Love by...
I show up for what I love by creating a space to hold my loved ones when they are overflowing with... everything. All the shit that makes us human. The good and the bad, the stuff that's fun and the stuff that sucks.
God only knows I'm not perfect at it and I have my limitations, but generally I like to think I do a good enough job of being there for the people I love by listening and empathizing and holding them in my arms and even providing a place to stay through the nights.
Pour out your joy, your despair, your contradictions, your hope, your vulnerability, your resilience and I will hold you, you brilliant pink flamingo, in the tea cup that is my love, just as, one day I hope, you'll hold my ridiculous flamingo-self in your tea cup, too.
