I LIKE THE MECHANIC GIRL

Asterios Kokkinos

Ffxv is a beautiful game. Has A LOT of meat on the rpg bone. Plenty of side quests, food recipe collecting, chocobo racing, bromance, monster trucks. Also the combat can be real time action or more turn-based. Highly recommended for old fans and people new to the franchise. Personally one of my top 5 games of the decade

Let me help you out with your political philosophy, Matthew. Putting people above economy is how I want the world to run, too. Unfortunately, this belief puts you at odds with liberalism. The biggest problem in America right now is called capitalism, and it's shaped like a pyramid. The point of this pyramid keeps getting taller, and the bottom keeps getting wider. This isn't a "failure" of "state capitalism," this is exactly how the economic system was meant to operate (the oucomes of capitalism are literally always worse when government lets companies do whatever they want). The carrot is wealth, the stick is poverty, and the people with wealth always have more control than the people in poverty. Anyone convincing you otherwise probably is only doing so out of ideological reasons. Capitalism doesn't "lift" people out of poverty because it's designed to put people in power who have a financial incentive to keep the bottom of the pyramid as wide as possible. This is something liberals pretend to/actually do care about, but instead of trying to fundamentally change how the game is played to keep as many people as possible in control of their own destiny, they'll just give you shit to keep you reliant on the state (UBI, medicare for all, etc.) I support this right now because it stops people from dying, but this SHOULD NOT be the endgame. Because everyone's access to food, water and shelter shouldn't be based on their access to money, and under capitalism, somebody in power will ALWAYS make this the case. So what's the alternative? There's quite a few. I'm for most of them because they aren't capitalist, and if we do manage to achieve anarchy, most of them probably will be used by certain individual communities. What I care about, however, is building a system of mutual aid which can keep everyone possible alive, with a house, with running water and heat. We have more resources and labor than we could possibly need to make this happen for everyone in the world. The average person lives their life developing their trade(s) and working to provide for their fellow man rather than leveraging as much money as they can from whoever they can get it from. Businesses are run as a worker cooperative, where every worker owns a share, and therefore get a say in the business, rather than investors who don't need to face the consequences of their choices (like emergency rooms stopping their doctors from using their own PPE and then not providing them with enough PPE). There are things you can do to fight capitalist predators. Join your nearest IWW branch when you get old enough. Same with the SRA if you're a gun guy. There's probably a workers coop bear to your house and it's just an objectively better way of doing business. You can have a future without inequality, you just need to fight for it. Kill your masters. 🏴❀✊πŸ”₯
