A Quick Reminder That I Am Lucky
Added 2018-10-12 19:46:04 +0000 UTCUh...I've been a little "woe is me" lately. Yeah, shit sucks sometimes. But I'm also pretty damn lucky, and I don't wanna forget that!
My arms and legs work. My head doesn't hurt constantly. I may be jobless, but at least I'm not homeless. And I'm certainly not friendless!
I've got warm, wonderful parents. Adorable nieces and nephews who pronounce my name hilariously. I've got the world's best girlfriend -- we're about to celebrate our three year anniversary.
It's a pretty good life!
Yes: some very bad people did some very bad things to me. They did them out of rage, and they did them to feel in control for a second.
But thankfully: they were dumb enough to do them in public, leaving lots and lots of evidence. And I'll be getting justice for that!
It feels like the entire world has come out to get my back. It's unexpected and humbling. So many people I've never met care so much. It's incredible. And I just want you all to know that I care about you too.
I worked my old job for five years, and loved it. Got promoted twice, earned some of the highest reviews in departmental history, and got to travel the world making commercials.
That job's gone now, and I'm actively applying to new ones. I'll find something, and I'll be alright.
But enough with the "woe is me" stuff. Because woe isn't me.
