It tries to be both "remake" and "OC" at the same time and promptly fails at being decent by the standards of either category. Like that fat slob who can't decide if he wants a pizza or a burger, so decides to make a pizza with mini-hamburgers for a topping (and one long pig-in-a-blanket for a crust). The only winner is the further degeneration of pop-culture. And heart disease.

2018-06-26 01:24:20 +0000 UTCDifferent is great when it's new stuff. I imagine most people probably don't like old stuff being taken in a new (shitty) direction. Jurassic Park, Ghostbusters, Star Wars, Star Trek, these are all bad now. Or if not totally bad, they are worse than the predecessors. Same goes for the remakes of things like Robocop, Total Recall, etc.

Last Jedi not only fumbled the questions raised by TFA, but mistreated Luke, made Leia pull a Mary Poppins, and ended on a weird note that felt like the end of a trilogy, not the second act. It's been six months and thinking about it still makes me sad.
