April 2024 Monthly Update

Hello lovely patrons!

Welcome to our newest monthly update where we update you on all things Two and a Half Studios. As always, these will come out every month on the 6th (AEST).

It's finally Dreambound release month!

We're also working on the art and guide book at the moment - we hope to release it very soon after the game. It's been a long road to completing the game, and now we're so close to release. It always makes me feel so nervous and excited. 

But for now, lets jump into a quick update on what we've been doing this month!

Dreambound

Programming

All programming and editing on Ivan AND Crow's routes are now complete! 

Both routes are now available to our beta backers and Patreon supporters. At the moment, the both of us are working on Kaine's route, which is around half complete. 

We expect to be finished with programming within the next two weeks, which will give us a little time after to go through the game one more time to polish up. 

On top of scripting, we're also going to: 

• Add a non-puzzle version of the second escape room 

• Add achievements 

• Update the credits 

• Update some backgrounds 

So, still a few jobs to go before release, but we'll get there :)

Art

Background wise, we have one left after the current WIP. We actually added additional backgrounds to the plan not that long ago to further enhance the story.

CG wise, we are also about to be finished. 

The most time consuming part of our projects is definitely the art, but we've been going at a good and sustainable pace with Sinran to avoid any burnout. I think it was definitely worth it!

Beta Release

As mentioned above, we released the Crow route beta just a few days ago! Go ahead and try it out if you'd like to play his story ahead of time.

Art

We've starting planning out exactly what artworks we'll need to create the DLC! At the moment, Fuyuure is working on Grim's new standing sprite.

As you can see, we're including an undressed version so we can easily add new outfits. Why? We'll have a tier on Kickstarter that allows you to create an outfit for him! More on that below :)

Writing & Outlining

Writing begins in earnest at the start of May. For now, we're concentrating on getting Dreambound out and outlining the story for Beyond the Bet. We have some great ideas but we're still molding them into an outline. Expect to see some more information next month!

New Opening

We released our new opening for those on the correct tiers! It will be released properly next month. We will likely have a stretch goal to add additional animations.

Kickstarter

We're waiting on the assets for our Kickstarter still, but we've sent off a text only version to be approved by the Kickstarter team. That means that very soon you will be able to sign up as a follower on the campaign, if all goes well.

Everything here is subject to change (especially the quantities), and the top 4 tiers are not yet named. I won't talk yet about what each tier is about, though I'll quickly mention the "official" MC tier - this is for a new section of the character creator that comes with official character presets, which your character can join.

We're planning to launch the Kickstarter between the 15th-20th of May.

New Hoodie

Surprise! We were asked to collaborate on a hoodie with Makeship - we're the very first one, how exciting! It was such an honor to be asked & to work on this with them. 

It'll be live on the 17th of April at 4pm PDT for a limited time only.

Astralis Publishing Title - The Inn Between

New Beta

Cats on a Lilypad Studios just released their ENTIRE common route (nearly 100k words!!!) as a beta to their Patreon! 

That means that work on the routes will now begin in earnest.
