You do love your dragons. ๐ I think the world is just a little more impatient, and we want all the whole story now now now. I fall victim to that a little too, but I'd settle for 1 season per year. ๐ It's the long gaps I can't handle. But, strike delays can't be helped. I've liked reading your comments on this show each week. ๐ You've made a great summary of all the important character progressions we've had this season.

2024-08-25 00:48:00 +0000 UTCI must be one of the very few people who has no major problem with this season. For me, lots of important things happened which were and will be very important. First and foremost, the loss of Rhaenys, and the beginning of the growth of Aegon. Second, and for me, almost most important, the resolving of Daemon's ambitions and motivations into that public and heartfelt knee bending and pledge to Rhaenyra. Third: Alicent's coming to terms with herself, her recognition of what being a pawn in the game means, and her resolve to try to see and be farther than she's permitted herself or been permitted. Fourth: Aemund's moral descent. Loras' commitment to Aegon feels sincere as well as self-interested. Cole's confession made in the recognition of how small he is. For me, lots of stuff happened, and I actually liked all of it. Could it have been done more succinctly? Maybe, but it looks like the strikes really ate into options, so I forgive. A running series is like a continuous first draft that you can't go back and rewrite. The ambition's there, the arc is there, the acting is there. I forgive the bumps along the way. And dragons...! I think I'm going to cry a lot in season three. Poor baby dragons.

2024-08-19 17:18:56 +0000 UTCSomething I've never mentioned at all before is that, from my first watching of GOT, one of my constant favorite moments is that very first second of the opening theme, that sounds like a sword being drawn from its scabbard before OFF we go. I love it.
