You got the easier version of the Demon Prince by sheer luck. How it works is if you kill the Demon From Below before killing the Demon in Pain, you get the harder version of the Demon Prince that summons fireballs as its mega move. If you kill the Demon in Pain before Killing the Demon From Below, you get the easier version of the Demon prince that shoots a laser beam as its mega move. The laser beam is easier to avoid as all that you have to do is go behind the Demon Prince which also allows you to get several free hits in.
