Update

So there were mixed reactions to the Astralist Interlude. I felt weird about having some other team earn the Writ for an entire castle without you seeing any of it. You may remember that Logan's team had been working on that for a while in the background. If you have any thoughts about it, feel free to share a gentle version of them in the comments. I feel the Astralist, being based on old black-and-white horror movies that were not as scary, may not have been the best story to do this sort of thing with.

I may have to do something similar to this later, so finding a way to show what other teams do is important as we move into the late game.

The final chapter for the week will come out tomorrow.

As I have said, Book Eight is modeled after classic adventure story tropes, so don't be surprised when they show up.

Anyway, thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoy what's next.

PS Did you know that the section between Itch and Stray Dawn in book five was 60,000 words? I sure didn't. What was I thinking?

THISSSS!! I LOVE READING INTERNAL MONOLOGUESSS

Kraz

The problem is that your greatest strength as a writer is in writing internal monologues. You are really very good at it. So having a section nearly devoid of them should best be avoided. If you don't want to promote one of the other players to part time POV you could have the perspective latch onto an NPC who's only tangentially related to the ongoing plot and is moderately amused trying to figure out what the players are doing. Alternatively, I saw someone suggest using the perspective of a member of the audience to give an outsiders opinion on what's going on. TLDR: please include someone's internal monologue, they are the best part of your writing.

I didn’t think I was going to when I read what it was going to be but I really REALLY enjoyed it. I found it a clever way for us to experience another team entirely AND get to see one of the movies on the red wallpaper. I’d love to read more of them.

I liked it. You can't please everybodyz and you shouldn't try. Getting experimental with the story telling and povs keeps the story fresh for us readers and for you writing things.

I really enjoyed it! I think the variety is good for the story overall
