Hey, amazing patrons! I have too many stories in my brain and not enough years left in my body, so it’s almost time to unleash another one into the wild!

Introducing The Long Way Out of Dead Moon Manor, a supernatural mystery full of murder, magic, and mayhem:

There has been a murder!

A monster tears through a city mall, leaving chaos in its wake, but private detective Hollis Hood can’t stop thinking about the woman who fell from the sky during the attack. Burned, bleeding, and with a knife buried in her back, she saves his life with a final spell before dying of her wounds. The world moves on. No one remembers her. But Hollis does.

His only clue to her murder is a book of magic stamped with the seal of the Dedmond Literary Society—a secretive, powerful order that presents itself as a force for good in the world, building libraries, saving rainforests, taking pictures with orphans, and fighting the horde of monsters that seek to overwhelm the earth. Protective, if a bit elitist, they claim to serve a higher purpose.

But a murderer is among them.

Hollis infiltrates their manor in search of answers, only to find himself trapped in a place where time bends, history shifts, and deception is everyone’s first language. If they uncover why he’s really there, he has no doubt he’ll see their darker side firsthand.

With the manor transported to the mysterious dimension called the Blackwalk, the magical seals locked tight, and hundreds of powerful sorcerers surrounding him, if Hollis is going to catch a killer, unearth the Society’s secrets, and make it out alive—he’s going to have to take the long way out.

The Long Way Out of Dead Moon Manor is a dark academia murder mystery progression fantasy. Hollis will learn the society's scholarly method of performing magic called Precedence and Authority, and see a side of reality he could only dream of.

But don’t worry—Carousel is still rolling along as planned. This new series won’t interfere; I just have too many stories to tell, and it’s time to start getting them out.
