Schedule and Comments

I'm going to change the schedule back to T-Fri to line up with RR. They say inconsistency is the spice of life... or something like that.

Also, there is one more storyline in this book. I know that is ridiculous from the word count alone, but so be it. I think it will be pretty cool, but not exactly what you expect.

I hope you have enjoyed Stray Dawn.

If you saw anything from the characters that you think should be rewarded with tropes, talk about it in the comments and you just might see it happen in the story. If you have any questions, add those too.

Thanks for reading.

Comments

It'd be a nice nod to give him the "willpower is magic" trope that his brother has.

Vladamir Dracula

We haven't seen Betrayal tropes yet and that one would be pretty cool. Scouting to decide trope loadout seems like it will be a big thing going forward.

Aguy768

Considering the amount of jocks who are secretly werewolves in TV and movies, I think it would be cool to see Antoine get a "monster within" trope. Where he can set up some hints during the party phase to allow a transformation after first blood to join the enemy. This would have to be conditional based if the enemy is a monster or not and what type of monster but could definitely be super strong for any vampire, werewolf, skinwalker, "hidden in plain sight" type enemy.

I’d like to see Antioine get to make a choice as he works toward his advanced archetype as to if he wants to do monster hunter or stay athletic, it seems like he feels shoehorned into that role, which got called out on this storyline. I dont know if the aspects are already set in stone but a brains and brawn one would be interesting for us to explore. Though he wasn’t particularly smart for this role.

Josh Pfleeger

Lila should get a good trope boost too. Her bad luck magnet is probably what let them win in the first place. I'd like her build to shift from screaming to boosting her party like the Bad Luck Magnet did.

Mariposa

Antoine really came through on this storyline. He should get a strong trope that buffs him as much as he resists his trauma. Fear is meant to be conquered.

Mariposa

Since Michael didn't do his subplot I think a trope that pokes fun at this and helps/forces him to do more acting would be good. Something like 'I Only Speak With My Eyes' and it increases his information scouting when he uses facial expressions and as little words as possible.

Mariposa

Some kind of Strong Silent Type trope foe Michael, buffs his stats but his only allowed to say a maximum amount of lines.

Zachary Atwood

What about a trope that increases Hustle during a chase scene equal to the difference between the number of chasers and the chased but decrease the rest of stats? Can't be used in the FINAL

Gulth

We have seen the pawnshop so far. They bought the bat, walkman and a couple tropes in there. Riley tried to sell his excess tropes but decided against it for the secret messages

Predyca

Also, are we gonna do an aspect vote for Michael? Cause he should be getting an aspect for completing a rescue right?

Agent Talon

Michael’s willingness to serve as second blood (if I remember correctly) and willingness to go down fighting might make a good justification for some sort of “last stand” trope

Fabledranger

Oh, I could also see Kimberly getting something like a "Survivor" background trope that mostly lets her use Final Girl tropes, since that was really her role this story.

Rain

I can’t remember but was there a way for a player to sell their tropes for money, or do they keep every trope they’ve earned over the years.

Drake

Kimberly could get a trope that allows her to learn information or memories when she plays a 'real character'. Antoine could get a trope that gives him more willpower to stay himself when infected for pulling through in the end. Riley could get a trope that rewards him for unveiling information at the most climatic moment possible. Michael could get a self sacrifice trope similar to Reggie's that lowers his PA on demand and lets him choose to become the target of the next blood.

readswellwithothers

It feels like Riley should get either a trope involving Blood Control for managing to survive by staging Michael's set piece or something about sticking to a plan. Maybe a rolling buff that's tied to a plan he makes on screen that gets stronger with every step enacted, but becomes a penalty/just straight turns off when a step is skipped.

Vesvius

Mostly unrelated to the current story, but I'd love to see Riley get a trope or two that his background trope would let him use. I know he mostly uses it as an explanation for the information his meta-awareness and insight tropes give him, and he gets really good use out of it, but I think it'd be really cool to see a few tropes that would let him lean into it a bit more. In terms of the story itself, maybe a way to let him go on-screen on command? I know he was looking for a way to get the subplot he was looking for on-screen. Andrew could maybe get a buff that brings up his mettle/hustle/grit in the finale depending on how many players have died or been written off so far? Something like "If you need something done right" or "Fine, I'll do it myself."

Rain

Theirs is Just to Do and Die Archetype: Soldier Stat Used: Moxie The other heroes may know how to win the day, but you know how to make sure they survive to do it. You can make yourself the target of Second Blood, regardless of Plot Armor. If your death is On-Screen, your performance as a Heroic Sacrifice will buff your allies' Grit and Mettle for the remainder of the story.

Adam Pugh

Riley could also get something like cockroach or invisible man which would negate his low plot armor for a scene. Awarded for continually not dying when his plot armor says he should

Abtist

Maybe something along the lines of "Method acting/Lost in character" that gives her more information from the actual background of her character rather than just subtle hints she needs to picks up on. Might play well with convenient backstory in fleshing out a skillset her character already knows.

RexRegis

I said it on the Discord, but I think Antoine really deserves the 'Willpower is Magic' trope after how he fought off the curse. Also, I had a trope idea not too long ago related to how Riley died leaving a death message that I think would be fun to see: Death Note Type: Insight Archetype: Filmbuff Aspect: Filmmaker Stat Used: Savvy The heroes of this story may have all died tragically, but that doesn't mean they couldn't get the last word in against their killer. While holding a rescue poster for a player who was the one last alive in a storyline, the Filmbuff will receive a dying message from the victim, as they leave one last warning of the horror that slayed them. "If you are watching this, I'm most likely already dead"

TheMortalRuins

The "I'm not that kind of doctor" / "I'm a doctor, not a..." tropes can also work. Buffs Savvy/Hustle on science related tasks outside of their specialty.

RexRegis

I was kinda thinking Michael might get a 'Wharfed' style sacrificial trope. Gets targeted for a hopeless Blood and as he fights the enemy exchanges Savvy and Hustle for Mettle and Grit. So it makes the enemies unstoppable but easily tricked/trapped.

Aguy768

Kimberly needs a trope ribbing her for downplaying her own agency and skill, maybe that'd help her realize that she brings something to the team that the others don't (emotional engagement. The others do it from time to time, but mostly as appeals to get NPCs to act the way they want)

RainbowPhaze

How about rewarding a trope to Andrew for knowing so much about chemistry even though he is supposed to be a psychologist. Call it “I also have a PhD in…” or “I have three PhDs.”

Drake

Yeah I really think Riley was MVP this time. A directors trope or something would be cool. Maybe some kind of knowledgment from Carousel?

JAMAJ

Riley: "you shouldn't have buried me, I wasn't dead" :something like a feign death skill, goes well with OB and raised by tv Antoine: "back in the game" : second wind Kimberly: "I'm not "playing" a character anymore": the more in touch with her characters emotion and mindset she is let's her use some skills or power from the character she is playing

Abtist

Stellar performance by them all. Michael might have had his plot stolen, but he made up for it with an epic final battle.

Slightly Morbid

I feel like Riley deserves a trope for making the enemies fight each other, he’s done it several times by now

Agent Talon

I’m not sure what to give Antoine, but that man deserves a lot of love.
