Update
Added 2024-10-02 00:48:41 +0000 UTCHey everyone, just a quick update!
Thank you all for responding so enthusiastically to my last post! I’m working hard to incorporate as many of your ideas into the post as I can and will deliver it soon. Some of your suggestions were already planned for later chapters, while others might overlap with future twists I have in store. If you don’t see your idea in the final draft, just know that it might have been excluded for a variety of reasons, but I’m definitely not ignoring any of your input.
I’ll get this next post up ASAP. RR will get the rewards chapter from Itch but nothing else until you’ve seen your update.
I’ve got some really exciting things planned, and I can’t wait to share them with you!
P.S. I've reworked the recharge conditions for Rescue Tropes. I realized that simply completing a few storylines made regaining them far too easy, which wasn’t the intent. The goal is to encourage players to seek out new Rescue Tropes. Now, to recharge a successfully used Rescue Trope, players will need to gain 5-10 levels. This introduces a much more significant limitation, aligning with how the game is designed and motivating players to grind levels by performing strong rescue runs. It should also help reduce repetition in how rescues play out.

Hopefully different rescue tropes will have different recharge conditions. Or maybe the stories the stories they complete to recharge it have to be the same level as they are? So they don't power through easy stories?

2024-10-04 14:29:47 +0000 UTCIt's probably not too horrible. Because if you successfully complete an unspoiled rescue, it's high likely someone will receive a new rescue as a reward. It does strictly set their path forward. Spoiled runs aren't going to cut it. Brutal but somewhat fair.

2024-10-02 04:58:58 +0000 UTCIt does have the indirect effect of doing things that aren’t just rescues…such as the throughlines at some point

2024-10-02 04:35:34 +0000 UTCDamn that is a brutal limitation because I think there will be a point, if storylines are failed en mass, that high level players won’t be able to rescue other players since their rescue tropes are all recharging. Unless, of course, they can get multiple rescue tropes.

2024-10-02 03:59:52 +0000 UTCThe new way of restoring rescue tropes really raises the stakes. It also means that they might not be able to rescue everyone. There were three boards full before Camp Dyer got masacred.
