Spoilers: It involves some trips around Carousel to various shops where Omens and other goodies can be bought.
Are there any of these that you might hope to see? There are lots of fun tidbits I intend to include, but I thought I would ask you if there is anything you specifically want. There will be tropes for purchase if you would like to make suggestions.

It would be funny/interesting to watch them try and incorporate into their scenes. Like imagine a rubber chicken that boosts haste when held, and now it’s helpful to have in this chase scene, but you have to explain to the audience why you pulled out this rubber chicken to start running. It would force either cleverness or humor.

2024-10-02 00:59:53 +0000 UTCBit late to this, but would love for Riley or Cassie to get a trope for second blood control, maybe based on Riley's "Gift" "They're after you" let's him nudge a villain towards someone for a phase lowering their Plot armor temporarily, would be cool for control since he could push it onto someone more likely to survive an encounter. Also we need to see the Pawn shop with all the new items after Carousel's reset!

2024-10-01 06:13:09 +0000 UTCA shop full of tropes with incredible downsides. Guarantees getting to end, but it's the only one you can equip. Can retake scenes, but must do better or you insta lose. Can disregard hustle during chase, but the chaser is always more athletic than you.. That sort of thing.

On a more real note I either want a spooky suspense thriller, or something crazy dangerous like the lake from the anthology. Edit: oops completely misunderstood the post my bad. A cassette player with a trope on it would be cool. Oblivious bystander is a cool trope.

A trope or item for Riley that allows others to see what he sees on the red wallpaper. A board somewhere with bounties like the jobs board that they got Subject of Inquiry from. Other cool things could be A selection of background tropes for sale. Clothes with tropes. Bags with luggage tags.

Maybe some trope that can be activated in the Party Phase to turn fantasy into sci-fi and vice versa? Turns out those Roswell alien grays were fairies all along ;)

2024-09-30 23:26:35 +0000 UTCNot sure what form this would take but maybe a shop that specializes in trope items that bridge the magic/tech divide. Stuff that lets psychics have a predictive AI or an oil that lets usually mundane weapons work on the supernatural those kinds of things

Would likely also need a penalty to balance, as that isn’t something carousel would want, but would be good for if you got pulled into wandering omen or apocalypse by accident

Would love to see a trope that incentivizes cliffhangers. If you end each scene on a moment of tension, the next scene is likely to go more favorably for the players.

I’m thinking either it lets the players ask Riley questions while he’s dead, or lets the Audience ask him questions, giving Riley the chance to try to “direct” upcoming story details if Carousel likes them enough to include them

It could have the nebulous downside of Carousel becoming annoyed and vindictive if it liked the direction of the original scene more than the retake.

I would also like a speakeasy that gives troupes around moxie and other face troupes and if you can trade you can get rumors on the best troupes/classes for certain movies.

Could give them access to a utility/item trope, like a first aid kit (or painkillers or bandages or plaster) that will help an injured player play off an injury to keep in the game? Edit: It could help them sell whatever recovery tropes they have that work similarly (like what Bobby or Antoine has)
