A few words about known issues with our site

With the latest update we managed to solve most of the issues that have been troubling our site; even so there are still a few hiccups we would like to go over.

For one we have been experiencing an issue where multiple copies of the "Order completed" notification are sent to the customer. The purchase themselves are not duplicated, meaning nobody is getting billed twice, only the emails are duplicated. It is apparently a WooCommerce bug triggered by high traffic.  

With the latest update customers should receive a direct link for download in their bill of purchase; that said we still recommend making the purchase while logged in to your account to avoid any issues. Purchases made while not logged in will still eventually be linked by the system to existing accounts as long as the email used for the purchase is the same as the one used to create the account, but that can take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours. Make sure you are logged in and save yourself the headache.

Why is that?

Our site began as a membership site; at the time we chose Zombaio as a payment gateway as it was the perfect fit for our needs. We were (and still are) very happy with Zombaio overall so we kept using it when we switched to a store model but Zombaio is designed to manage membership sites, not single sales. To make it do so we had to resort to third party applications. That is why for example we don't have a "cart" function that allows multiple purchases with just one payment, or why Zombaio requires to create a username and password for their purchases that has no real use or why it mentions "Memberships" in their receipt.

Why not change to a different payment gateway?

As mentioned, despite everything, we are rather happy with our current one. Besides, by now our site is so interwoven with it that changing would mean having to redesign the site from the bottom up which would require significant downtime and affect existing accounts. Zombaio has been promising to create a single product model for some time and hopefully that will solve the issue once and for all.

But how does all this affect your customers?

For the most, besides a few puzzling things like the one we mentioned above, it doesn't.

But what if I don't want to use Zombaio?

On request we accept Paypal payments, if you want to buy one of our comics but don't want to use Zombaio contact us at info@adventuresinenf.com and we'll arrange the payment details and provide a direct download link.
