A Thank You and A Toast!
Added 2022-08-07 22:29:36 +0000 UTCHappy August, and with August comes Season 15 for Coriolis Dance! The biggest things on our mind for this season are sustainability and growth, and we have some exciting ideas and programs planned not only for this season but for years to come.
But first,
This past week I was sitting down for dinner with a group of women, all professional dancers at various ballet companies on the west coast and I was floored by the conversations being had about pay in the dance industry. Natasha & Christin started their mission 15 years ago and this week in 2022 I was listening to five women detail their continued struggle for adequate, sometimes even bare minimum pay and respect. I felt I was transported back in time, hearing how one dancer performed Sugar Plum four nights in a row with no pay while her teenage counterpart was paid hundreds of dollars a night. With that being said, I genuinely thank you for being part of the Coriolis family. There is no hiding times are tough right now, just know that during these times we appreciate your help more than we can put into a news letter.
