Hello, hello. And what do we have in the show notes this week. Well, we start with some photos of the Dutch police and their Porsches. Then we have Jonny in full Swedish architect mode relaxing in the back of a speeding Tesla Model 3 (floorpan bop, not pictured) and a bear dressed like a middle-aged man at a cars & coffee. Finally, yes, dog nappies are a real thing. Now some links…
If you really want to experience a Dutch police 911, I am sure Leo de Haas (https://leodehaas.com/#contact) can get you in to contact with people who own one. He has an interesting TV career and (past) car collection.

For a luxury JDM choice how about a 3rd gen Nissan President, 2880 mm wheelbase or a 4th gen President is 2870 mm.

Unfortunately only the most recent ones are long enough. Get the sense he’s looking for something more classic. And the ID Buzz is a thing already

We all know Jonny has a hankering for a Coleman Milne Granada hearse. Is the wheelbase of 299mm (120mm longer than a Model 3) an.abwolute no go?

it's a really long wheelbase eh - it's large exec and delivery vans from the 80s and 90s only. Even our domestic large (rear drive) sedans in Australia are shorter wheelbase - you have to go to the prime ministerial extra length ones for >288cm wheelbase

Ooh, a panel van would be sweet too, but given that Jonny's a respectable family man the extra doors of the wagon might suit his lifestyle more.
And 2 minutes? What do you do with the other 90 seconds?
Jeremy Cheah

Panel van would be practical for tradies too. Ole Man used to call them microwaves... cause you could do a bird in the back in 2 mins

Doggy nappies are usually more like sanitary towels, for your lady dog when it's that time of the month before she's been for her girly snip. Otherwise they not only bleed on your sofa, but get knocked up by the local horny mongrel.
Regards the e-Up, Richard is obviously failing in his Husband Jobs. Cleaning cars is Husband Job. He doesn't touch the washing machine, I don't vacuum cars :D

I should add that if your plan is to go ghetto with an ancient Model S, whilst it seems obvious to choose an Impala wagon for your estate of choice, do you really want to add a '76 wagon to your collection? The best US model is the aptly named Buick Electra. It's like it's asking for the swap! Clearly, the 15mm shorter wheelbase isn't going to cause much trouble and you absolutely must have it in brown/gold standard colours. Some nice 25mm arch extensions and running boards made from marine plywood would finish it off brilliantly. You're welcome.

The correct answer for a man who loves his JDM is, of course, the Nissan Stagea. Renowned for having incredible underpinnings for a family estate, it seems fitting that it should be used. The wheelbase is just under an inch shorter. If your budget is larger and you want to go British, a Bristol 412 is a nice drop-top and less than an inch longer wheelbase. It'll have a massive boot under the bonnet once you remove the engine from that landing strip of a bonnet.

Tesla Model 3 shares it’s 2875mm wheelbase with:
2009- Mazda CX-9
2011- Mercedes CLS500/63AMG
2011- Mercedes E63 sedan
2013- Mercedes E350 sedan
2014- Mercedes E250 BlueTEC
The only other option is a 2022 Genesis GV70 electric, which would be both expensive and ultimately pointless.

Pret (increasingly appearing at services - now at Stafford north) do tend to have the filter coffee on and it’s usually surprisingly cheap. I always loose time walking round the duck pond though.

Citroen CX v close (30mm) and as the drive train was the weak point it's ideal as an EV. And keep the revolving drum speedo so you can read it ahead of you - plus the CX indicator switches now Tesla have ditched the stalk.

I have often asked for a filter coffee at Starbucks, it's never on, but they give me an americano for the same price as a filter.
I would also say that coffee snobs often seek out filter or drip coffee, it's way nicer than just a watered down espresso.

I was thinking American family motoring and think the Buick roadmaster (in full woody wagon 92-96 spec) could be in for a great shout - 2944mm wheelbase and 1984mm wide. But also potentially easy to swap as it is a body on frame car… what a family wagon that would make!

Just started listening. Jonny should look up the Plaidissey by the Boosted Boys (Boiz?). It's a Model S Plaid hidden under a 90s (?) Honda Odissey body.
Unless he and Rich find out about it in later minutes of this 'cast, in which case, feel free to, or rather, please, ignore this comment.

An electric Shadow would be amazing. I’m sure somebody has done it already but hacking the Tesla chassis onto the RR body and then wedging the iPad into the carpentry would be brilliant.

My fiance recently moved in with his dog, a 9mo old Labrador who’s just came in to her first heat, sending my 5 year old Chow wild wanting a bit of action, she’s had to wear a nappy for the past few weeks, I was pissing myself laughing for the first few day every time I saw her as they look so ridiculous

I'm not sure what your +/- tolerance is on wheelbases, but pretty much all Aussie Ford Falcons from the 60s to the late 80s rode on 111" (2819mm) wheelbases, which includes the XB hardtop, which in turn means Interceptor. Or if that isn't "practical" enough, a 1971 XY Falcon wagon would be a sweet, sweet ride.

I'd love to see a 1966 Olds Toronado on the tesla platform but I think it would be too long.
Here are some other suggestions:
2850mm Citroen XM
2850mm Lexus LS400 gen 2
2864mm Jaguar XJ6 LWB
2865mm Mercedes-Benz W116 S class
2870mm Jaguar XJ40
2881mm Volkswagen Phaeton SWB

We once took part in a convoy with a record amount of these police Porsches. Afterwards we were asked if we wanted to drive the circa 40 miles back ourselves, with a coworker in another one. “But guys, please don’t use the sirens”…. needless to say, many shenanigans took place. 😂
