On the topic of badge bars, I think the closest now is the odd thing with Scooby's in the US where you can get badges stating it's your Nth Subaru, or like camping, or other odd stuff. It's up there with stick family stickers

I came here all exited to drop the perfect bonnet ornament/car combo for Jonny's Brother, - Hispano Suiza! Then at the last moment remembered that's a stork not a swan. Any chance you could persuade your brother to switch waterfowl allegiances Jonny? Admittedly an H6 is a bit more pricey than a Passat.....

Had a jeep gladiator as a rental for a 2 hour one way to Chicago O’Hare (?) it is absolutely crap. Bad front suspension from the jeep, bad rear ox cart, leaf spring from a truck. When it goes over a rail crossing it trys to flip over. All image. Can we take a collection for an hour of beers to “pay” for a supplemental questions only episode?

Talking of landing swans… was driving down a long, straight road in Worcestershire in November, spotted a swan circling in the sky, and was then surprised to see it coming in to land - nose down, Concorde stylee - on the road (feet either side of the white lines) ahead of me. Was a very graceful landing. I slowed to a halt, whacked on the hazards and held the cars behind me as my wife got out to guide it to the safety of the verge.

Richard Jenkinson

Upset me to hear 'Concorde of the bird world' and 'Bonnet swan' when 'Swancorde' and 'Swannet' are right there...

I love the fact that in the images of QEii driving her Range Rover, the passengers look ever so slightly concerned (in a very British way).

Glad to hear of your experience with the Tesla Y Sniff. They are NOT awesome vehicles, but they ARE just really easy to live with. I’ve been driving Teslas for 3 years. Thing that people don’t mention is the amazing air purity inside the car, that’s really good in heavy traffic. I still hanker for a Taycan though.

Interested to find out what others thought of the Ferrari movie. No spoiler review - it wasn’t what I expected. And unnecessarily graphic.

Dalziel Blake

I was convinced for a minute that Richard was talking about the Maxus T90, which had an even cheaper lease deal before the end of the year. Tesla is much better, mind.

Baldock (?) Services is one of the places I'm going to see when I visit.... Oh, Jonny, you don't know 🌧️🌧️🌧️ Come to Oregon.

For a moment I thought we were going to get someone playing a Swan neck flute over the outro. Maybe next episode?

Andrew Cannon

Your brother is a wise man Jonny, I had a 200k+ mile B3 1.6TD that had none of the issues of its successors. Surprisingly punchy for a diesel bus, but the diet of methanol enhanced Waste Vegetable Oil probably helped (although I maintain the intercooler was in a daft place).

Thom B.

Talking about "Jeep Gladiator model names"... I recently had a MINI Countryman "Untamed" courtesy vehicle, with green seats and all ;) https://bimmer.work/vin/396c8a941c2c3352f11e9083c29029b0b/

I loved the outro with guitar overlay - it’s very Brian May when trying to spruce up an obscure Mercury song (in a good way).

Ed Storer

Forget the hood ornament there was the swan car of course https://www.getbengal.com/details/when-brookes-swan-cars-cruised-through-the-crowded-streets-of-kolkata I forget what pod it was, but didn't you see a massive classic car together that had a huge swan on the side too? It was maroon and black.

Stephen Voss

To support Jonny‘s brother‘s case: ever heard of a ballet called „Duck Lake“? No? Me neither …. :D

Andy Pinchock

… and congratulations on your Y-shaped purchase, Richard. I had a brief look around one that belonged to a colleague, finished in black with white trim. I gave it one of those straight mouthed ‘gif of Kirk’ nods of approval.

Richard Fitton-Perkins

There was at a time, a fair few B3 wagons over here in Ireland 🇮🇪

Nathan English

Are you sure you didn’t miss the “Freedom, Democracy, Jesus and McDonalds” edition of the Jeep Patriot?

Richard Fitton-Perkins

I also watched Die Hard 2 on chrimis eve 🙈

Rice Krispies are a bit unicorny here in Germany. I made some for Christmas with genuine artificial green food coloring and all my colleagues loved them! Their tongues are likely still green…

Andy Pinchock

Ferrari movie OK but not a must see

Andrew Barnes

My mother loves Tic-Tacs, she gets them in huge tubs. No idea where from, but you could use them for a single serving of Rice Crispies like the big clear cereal tubs your grandparents had.

Matt Tester

Regarding the shitness of auto-wipers, the Traaaansit Custom of the mid-2010s has both an auto sensor *and* a adjustable interval, which work in concert to make the wiper interval exactly what you *don't* want in every situation.

Stgls

The Dylan jam version of the merch song should be every week. And how about Jonny nailing the intro again? 😁

Ed Nicholson

Gotta love a Sunday evening Patreon update. Keep up the rather excellent work in ‘24 chaps. It is most agreeable.
