Show notes 191

Happy (almost) new year gang. We’re back with the show notes, starting with pics of Jonny’s heroine, Michele Mouton, and Richard’s hero, Harris Mann. Then we have the horrendous Rover 25 one-off designed by Matthew Williamson and the intriguing, fabric-bodied BMW Gina concept. Couldn’t find any pics of the Max Power star car with the upholstered exterior, sadly. Now, some links…

The Rover 25 reminded me of this gem from 2012 - a Renault Twingo Mk2 customised by a member of Girls Aloud. D:Class in Surrey did the trimming and they’re actually really good. https://www.topgear.com/car-news/when-popstar-designs-twingo

So since you didn't answer the totally hypothetical question if you where to host Top Gear in the future, who would be your third and what would you do, I've had a though about it. As you are on the tall side then you need a third tall person to make shots balance. You also need a wheel-man, so the only contender is Harry Catchpole. Now as you're are all tall, for you first trip you need to do it in convertible kei cars, so something like a Cappuccino, Beat and a Copen. And as for a location, well it would be fun to watch you do the 5000km from Sydney to Perth via Uluru! And as a backup car there'll be a French 'voiture sans permis' bringing up the rear.

Not saying I looked up Miami Spice, but the line "I'd like to put my lipstick on his dipstick" may have been said early on...

Alan Jones used to have lucky pants. When they became unwearable he used to sew a bit from them onto a new pair too

Vote here also for Harris Mann . Highly recommend the DVD (yes DVD) „Project Bullet“ where the TR7 is covered in very deep detail and Mr Mann speaks very openly. Available at triumphdvd. Co. Uk I have no connection to that site I just find the films good …. Hope it is OK to mention .. Happy Gregorian New Year!

Still remember those seeing, hearing, feeling, those Group B cars back in the day in NZ with similarly relaxed spectator restrictions... https://flic.kr/p/ttWVCC

Happy new year you wonderful flutes!

Massive like for the Michele Mouton love. Yes, the most monster Audi, sure the Pikes Peak dominance, but also the experience of 131 Abarth, Alpine A110, 205 Turbo 16, and Lancia Stratos.

Back when the Lego Speed Champions Audi S1 Quattro came out (Jonny, the Audi being boxy, this model works much better than the pre-crashed Technic sets) I did quite a lot of research on parts catalogs to find the official Michele Mouton minifig for my daughter. This minifig was only released in Spain as part of a limited Instagram giveaway to promote women in motorsport. If anyone would like to recreate that figure, the two parts you need are 4610232 and 6100203, and Lego will ship them to you for less than a dollar. Brew a cuppa, pop on Queen of Speed, and build a set with your kid. It's discontinued but you can get them on eBay etc. Highly recommended.

My rover 75 has BX51 ARS for a number plate! Sick of receiving arse jokes about it!

I had that quattro picture as a poster on my bedroom wall, free when opening a bank account with TSB when I was about 12
