Show notes 175

Hello you. In pics this week we start with Jonny and Richard in the luggzhury Hagerty treehouse meeting room just after recording this podcast in a pair of excellent T-shirts. Then we move on to a man in a ‘90s buznuz suit, the excellent Leyland Motorsport logo, and some of the excellent cars Jonny spotted and mentions in the show. Finally, we have a pair of Prelloods and Bob’s on board thermometer. Now, some links…

Holding Out For A Hero really running on at the end there

Ayrton Senna driving an NSX in slip-on shoes

Tavarish and the flooded McLaren P1

Richard mis-remembered Mansell on Top Gear. He DID take his cap off for the recording

Kimi Raikkonen on Top Gear in completely unbranded clothing because he doesn’t give a toss

UPDATE: Sorry, we forgot the link to Boyzone's first TV appearance. It's quite remarkable.

That coffee is basically from Nottingham twice, the guy doing the trucks and the coffee itself is roasted in Nottingham. Smells banging when I drive past and they are roasting 🤤

Jon

Found it on Redbubble. All sorts of stuff like this on there. R

Smith and Sniff

Richard, where did you get that lovely lovely t-shirt? It goes without saying that you have started a new fashion trend.

Florian Dutke

Love the CITY T-shirt. Will have to get one of those. The wheels on the Panda are from the Fiat Bravo, specifically the HLX. Even more specifically the lightly facelifted model (1999 onwards)

Paul Renowden

Tag line of ' on your side of things '

John Hempson

Agreed, you have to pay to give them something for others to see! £15-20 would be fair. I'd of been disappointed if I only went up for the show though, given its Hagerty etc. I thought it would have been bigger and busier...

Cornish Rider

just finished catching up on results at Silverstone (iconic) ox-shun and will be disappointed if you cover the middlebridge car. (not listened yet - save it for my commute) https://www.iconicauctioneers.com/1988-middlebridge-scimitar-gte-rec12620-1-silverston-0823?pn=1&el=20909&pp=100 Strangely hankered after one of these for 40 years or so. Well before the birth of celebrity . Well until seeing the interiors.

Rob Stannard

Just wanted to thank Jonny for the ‘Clarkson’s mouth’ comment. Absolutely made my Monday.

Toby

I’ve just seen a Fiat Fullback on a construction site!

and Richard - very disapointed not to hear you say "Twaaaaaaaaahhhnzitttt-ah" when judging the HotWheels legends example.

John Hammond

There was a guy in a tweed looking suit, I saw him leave in the tidy late Mk3 Cavalier looking very 'sales rep'.

John Hammond

I totally agree, I was on my own so £27 entry with fees. I was on route from Bristol to Bedford anyway, so it wasn't out of my way but not cheap for a show; especially when your vehicle is part of the show.

John Hammond

I am not sure as the ticket doesn't say, but I was on my own so an expensive day out. I was on route to somewhere so the journey from Bristol wasn't really an issue as I had to pass through anyway.

John Hammond

surely the sorting the personal vehicle estate planning company after passing should be called 'Stiff and snuffed it'

John Hempson

Looks like the boys finally found a boardroom worthy of “Smith & Sniff Industries Ltd.”!

Alex Claassen

Made the 6 1/2 hour trek from Cornwall (thanks holiday traffic!) to Radwood for the first time, some lovely cars on display but thought would have been twice the size and spread across the site, so after 2 hours that was it including lunch. £30 admission (2 of us) was all the money Good job combined with a stay at Caffeine & Machine and 2 trips to Gaydon. In the Morning the huge Jaguar Day was well worth the visit, should have stayed there a bit longer!

Cornish Rider

Strong money that. Did it cover passengers as well?

Martin Laver

Apropos Nige and his Sunseeker hat, I definitely remember seeing him wear it on TG.

Martin Laver

I was at Radwood Saturday, it was a decent turn out and some lovely oddball cars but the entry fee for exhibitors at £25 I thought was a bit steep.

John Hammond

Where's my Boyzone link Johnny? 🤣

Paul Yeung

Another 👌🏼 for the CITY T-Shirt from me, brilliant!

Adam

As are both versions of the Leyland Motorsport helmet logo.

John Hammond

Am I the only person that had "Sad Swans (Say So Much)" immediately enter their diseased brain.

Tom Lanigan

The City T-shirt is available on Redbubble.

Peter Viney

Loving the “city” T shirt - yes please. My First car was a Metro city. In Brown.

Richard Norgate

Jayemm on cars buying himself a coffee there…

Martin Laver

The want for the CITY t-shirt is very strong

Thomas Cowley

Pleeeeeeease tell me that CITY T-Shirt is going on the Merch store????!?!!!? Oh just thought will the be an ‘X’ version available as well?? Is that Tom Hiddleston serving coffee?
