Show notes 169

Hello again. First of all, thanks to all the Patrons who came to the Bicester live show this week. Sorry it was a bit echoey. Will find a less cavernous space for the next live show. In pics this week we have one of the yellow signs that guided the audience to the show, the hangar space itself, Jonny and Richard having pre-show refreshments backstage (note Richard’s swiftly jettisoned MG Rover work jacket), the horrible safari jacket Jonny made Richard wear for the recording (with optional Little Car Company crash helmet), and the way this pair of flutes arrived in front of the audience. Finally, we have Jonny's reversing stance, the steam train he sat in (note the hat), and one of the Fiat Fullbacks he spotted, then the Rickman Ranger and the Dutton Sierra. Mmm.

Rickman cars (the Ranger was actually Escort-based, it turns out. And so was the Dutton Sierra).

Just dropping an 'ELLO from Los Angeles. Born and raised in London and it's been a lovely thing for the ears to discover you guys. My accent was struggling until I started absorbing your podcasts at a WRC rate. Also happens to itch my need for obscure, non-shouty car *content*

Does anyone else think Jade Green Jazz sounds like an 80’s porn star?

Ha, I was sure I saw Jonny in Wells as I was coming back from the WWLR....I don't drive a Fiesta :)

It's Monday, raining and I've got to go to work. Still at least I have this!

Cornish Rider

As in, it's not rainproof?

I struggled with the echo for the first 20 mins or so but was manageable. I then stood up as my back was aching from the crap chairs and suddenly I could see and hear just fine! Great show, looking forward to re-listening whilst pretending to work in the morning.

Mg rover top is drippy af!

Simon Waites

Can't hear you...

It was a great evening. Echo just means that when I listen back It’ll feel like a fresh recording. Maybe try Ford to see if the CEME pod is a possibility on the A13. Would be perfect. Happy to try some of my old contacts.

Still enjoyed it despite the echoeyness! Might I suggest the British Motor Museum in Warwickshire for a future event? They hosted a Lotus talk there a few months back and it was great, nice atmosphere and good people. Also they can rustle up a burger and drinks van outside too if required! See you On The Next Side Of Things...

It was a brilliant recording gents. The echoyness can't exactly be helped in a fucking massive hanger. If you'd done it somewhere small there would be people complaining it's too claustrophobic. Just keep doing it where you think its best.
