Hello again lovely Patrons. What’s going on this time, eh? Well, we start with a nice period ad for the Allegro Equipe followed by stout soldier of the drizzly rails, Ivor The Engine, and Jonny showing off his ‘cacky Magnum’ look. Then we have old Blippi and new Blippi, Vin Diesel in his groundsman outfit, a DeLorean in Miami Vice, and the actual Allegro Equipe currently for sale.

Now some links…

And maybe his cousin too?

Fan theory: Discovery 1 owning, canal boat dwelling croc-dundee hat and leather waistcoat man is the father of no-name full suspension mountain bike guy.

The Duke boys didn't have an interior mirror in the General Lee, at least not in the one they used for 'head-on' shots. I believe it was removed so that the viewer had a clearer picture of Rosco and Enos chasing them through the rear window. On that side of things, I seem to recall that the seats were modified so that Bo and Luke sat lower in the car, rally Co-pilot style, for the same reason. Any looking round they were doing, was obviously to check on the bow and arrows they had sat on the back seat, as the arrows always seemed to have high explosives strapped to the side of them!

Matt Evans

fantastic intro :)

I really want that Allegro with its ‘low profile 165/70’ Michelins and all that. But I have a mortgage shortfall that I need to make up, so that’s where all my cash has gone. 😢😢

Ed Storer

Goodness, that Allegro. What a sweet, sweet car. And that intro 🤣

Paul Renowden

On the subject of engines with deep V's, the last of the Renault V10 F1 engines had a V angle of 110 degrees to sit as low as possible, when regs switched to V8s and the current V6s that angle is regulated as 90 degrees. So to follow on from the clothing analogy the last V10 Renault was definitely off of both shoulders like a slinky dress.

Apparently, via a neighbour who used to work for Moonbug (Blippi owner) when Netflix bought Blippi they got in another guy. So that would make him a third generation Blippi, or Blippi Mk3, if you will. No doubt special editions will follow.

William Dron

Love the walk through panel gaps on that Allegro advert photo.

Robin Capper

:O The thing that got my attention, he asked a friend if he could do a poo on him, I mean, if one of my friends asked me that question that is where the friendship would end.

In my mind the model train thing is strangely more complicated than it has to be. I am the forum moderator for Scalextric and rub elbows with the much larger train side of the house. The train guys can go on for yonkers about various aspects of the hobby. Slot cars aka Scalextric are pretty much 1/32, 1/24, 1/43 or 1/64ish scale. Trains have some crazy number like over 20: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rail_transport_modelling_scales In my mind these layouts should combine cars and trains to fill them with life but that isn't all that straightforward... As an aside: The Wunderland layout in Hamburg is officially H0; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miniatur_Wunderland

Going to the cinema alone is all well and good, but I can't help feeling a screening of Fast Ten Your Seatbelts would be immensely improved by Richard sticking his head in the door and yelling FOR FUCK'S SAKE at the exact right moment.

I think my favourite part of the pods are the Car and Classic ads these days. Top drawer stuff. I assume you used some sort of AI deepfake voice tool to get will(dot)i(dot)am's voice so accurate. Still my favourite podcast. More power to your individual elbows gentlemen.

Paul Wood

richard major you beat me to it. Blippi did indeed shit on a dude. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stevin_John

Think of the most hyperactive and annoying child you have ever met, turn them in to an adult dressed like the guy you definitely want to avoid at the Glastonbury dance tent, then double that.

David Carss

Blippi made SCAT PORN. Before he was Blippi he made other videos, in one he does a big diarrhoea all over a naked dude.

Richard Major

I think I've been lucky, I've no idea what blippi is. Now if only I'd been as lucky with peppa pig or bing.

Nathen Fredrick

The original design of the Allegro was quite a looker, but the insistence to use a tall block engine meant it was doomed to be a dumpy lump.

Ian Ansdell

I’ll never be able to finish saying the word “excavator” without that song stuck at back of my mind….

Wilson Lin

That allegro. FIND ANOTHER.

Rick Bean

I can remember the launch of the Austin Allegro. As a kid we lived next door to the general manager of the local Austin dealership. The night before the launch he brought one home and it was parked on his drive. I remember my Dad and I looking over this new car with the square steering wheel!

Steve Morton

“Fucking Blippi” every parent across the globe.

David Carss

Jonny needs to sort out the lampshade in that photo. It's at something of a jaunty angle!

Thomas Cowley

Some great bassooning on the Ivor the Engine title track there.
